ABOVE: O 47 shunting at the original Golden Square station, sometime between 1886 and 1898. Having been delivered new as number 58 in October, 1863, the 'odds and evens' system of numbering adopted by the VR, had this altered to 47. It was assigned a class letter of 'O' in 1886 when the letter designations were introduced, and was the first of it's class to be scrapped, on August 13, 1904.
