In 1948 a loop line was provided from the Frankston to Stony Point line at Crib Point that allowed down trains to run directly down to the naval base. This auxilliary frame shown controlled all movements to and from the mainline to the naval base. The frame was abolished June 3 1989. Here we see N 408 heading down to the naval base, photo circa 1960
