Oil Tank 8 built at Newport workshops May 1919, photo date circa 1919. For most of its life this wagon was employed delivering transformer oil to suburban sub-stations.
The photo below shows the same wagon 60 years later after having been retired from service and awaiting preservation at Newport workshops. |

After the main group of 2 axle tanks were built there were more 2 axle tanks built whose numbers were interspersed in the bogie number group. OT 512 was built circa 1959 and was in departmental fuel service when this photo was taken in 1982
