Converted from both short (Tommy Bent) and long wheelbase I/IA's by having their doors removed and a fixed piece of steel welded in place. The Bacchus Marsh to Fairfield traffic was for furnaces at the Australian Paper Mills)

There was no renumbering during conversion from I/IA to IC, they kept their original numbers.
