During Australia's bicentenary in 1988 many special trains were run. R 761 ran a special to Albury to meet NSWGR's 3801 coming down from Sydney. The trains are seen here at Glenrowan setting back for a photorunby, just before I ran out of film thus missing the actual photo runby.

BELOW: A lot has changed at Glenrowan in the 20 years since the above photo was taken. In 1986 it was closed to passenger traffic and then on Aug. 22 1991 it was disestablished as an electric staff station at which time all signals and non main line tracks were removed. At some stage the standard gauge loop was extended and the ballst siding was removed. The "new" station building is a tourism driven recreation of Glenrowan's original station at the time of the Kelly gang siege. Photo date Dec. 2008
