These units were a combination of power units built by the Walker Railcar company, Wigan England and bodies built Martin & King in Victoria, the whole contraption was assembled at Newport workshops. An interesting change was made to the bottom edge of the windscreen during production, early deliveries had a curved bottom edge, later ones had a straight bottom edge
